Emerald Coast Comics | Commission My Friends | ECC On DA

Well, looks like you've seen some of what I've been busily at work with. All I can can tell you is that I'm very pleased with how it's coming out. Another thing I have to point out is that I'm finally going to give an application to Archie a try. I've been chickening out for a long time now because I never felt my art was up to par, whether it would meet their standard of my own. I still wish my work were better, but that'll come with more time I'm sure.

So I hope to have my portfolio ready by the end of April. I don't know what this'll mean for me as far as school goes, if I get in that is. It'll probably mean that my time for DA will be practically non-existent xD In any case, I'm flipped out and nervous. I really want to make a good impression. After reading through the journals and forum posts of

, I have to say I'm really inspired to go for it.

Be sure to have at least 5 pages, be sure to ask for a script to practice from in the same e-mail. They'll probably give you one. Then if they say no, you at least came away with something to practice from.

And submit a few pages from that script, like every couple of weeks submit 5 new pages. See how that goes. And dont forget you're lookin at a page a day.

Thanks for the tips man. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. As for scripts, the writer posts some on his forum every once and a while, so I have a wealth of material to pull from as far as that's concerned. Hopefully I can convince them to give me a script for a comic that hasn't been released yet. Mainly because I feel it would look better to show them something where I don't have the issue of it to look at, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, I got lucky and got a script from IDW that I havent read, it helps a whole bunch, except then you cant read the book for a while

And it does look better if you havent seen it, and you dont have to worry about it being 'copied' or something.

Hey,you'' probably make it,your artwork is a hell a lot better than Joe Randall's for Archie Team that's for sure. (fyi,I don't like Joe XD) We'd just have to wait and see,and if they don't take ya',then at least ya' tried.
