I'M THE GODDAMN DICKMAN!

I jokingly call him that both in humor and to distinguish him from Bruce when I talk about Batman. Out of all the other characters, I don't think anyone deserves the cowl more than Dick. You know, all the other characters that aren't Bruce. Inked this in brush pen and India ink and watercolor brush, colored digitally. I'm debating buying Watercolors.

I never liked using water color before, but I'm thinking about giving it another try.

I'm still pissed that he'll never be Nightwing again. instead, not only is he stuck in the shadow of his pat mentor, he's making it. I'm still hoping that he'll eventually come up with a costume that's a conglomeration of the Batman and Nightwing costumes, one with the Nightwing Leotard but the Batman cowl. We could call him Knightwing!

I rather enjoy Dick's run as Batman. He and Damian just seem to click with me. Regardless, I don't think his being Batman will be forever. I imagine sometime he may return to being Nightwing in the future. It all depends on the writers and the editors, and I'm sure there is a writer out there that may get a hold of Dick who is like "No, he's Nightwing." Though, I do think if he did become Nightwing, I'd enjoy it if Damian still stuck on as his sidekick. I don't hate Damian, but outside of being around Dick, he's just kinda meh.

But yeah, Knightwing is a pretty bitchen name.

They are an awesome pair, and Dick makes and excellent Batman...I just wish that he had something to distinguish him from the old Batman because I saw a picture of the two of them and they were drawn similarly and in similar poses and I was like "okay so oracle, Batgirl, Red Robin, Robin, Batman...and other Batman" It just sort of pisses me off that neither one of them took on a new name. I was expecting Bruce to become Something new and start dressing more like Batman Beyond, or For Dick to start allowing more of his own personality to start bleeding into his Batman Costume now that Bruce was back because he didn't have to pretend to be the old Batman anymore.

The first thing I wanted to see from him was for him to loose the cape to be more like Nightwing.

That reminds me. Looking through some of the books, several artists have a hard time drawing Dick like Dick when he's in his Batman costume. First they get the belt and the gloves wrong, drawing them more like Bruce's earlier outfit, then they give him Bruce's chin, his crazy hook nose, an insane under bite, and bulk him up like mad. Grrrrr! Dick Smash!

I know! When I think of Dick Grayson, I think skinny, youthful. LIKE THIS! [link] and yet, no, most of the time people try to draw him like Bruce and hope to get away with it. This is why we need a major way to discern between them! So even the stupid people can go, that's Bruce Wayne, Batman. That's Dick Grayson, Knightwing. He looks like Batman, but so does Knight but he has his own awesome charm.
